I am a nature lover and amateur photographer. For ten years, I bred tropical butterflies in Cairns, North Queensland, Australia. They were bred for live display only and sent to the many butterfly houses around the country, for people to enjoy as they walked amongst them. Luckily this was a labour of love, as I had to work from dawn to dusk 7 days a week, in order to keep the hungry caterpillars fed with their individual food plants, and to produce a constant supply for the butterfly houses.

Whilst breeding butterflies, I visited butterfly houses in Singapore and Malaysia. More recently, I had the experience of a lifetime, when I did volunteer work at a butterfly farm in a remote area of Peru in the Amazon Basin. I hope to return to South America soon to photograph more of the dazzling butterflies there.

At present I am filming the endangered Richmond Birdwing butterfly in South-East Queensland. My filming of the amazing life cycles of different butterflies was a natural progression, as so many people were fascinated by them. I also now feel that it is my responsibility to give back something to Mother Nature for all she has given me and others, by educating people about these beautiful creatures. With so many species of wildlife disappearing all over the world every year, it now seems even more urgent to record them for future generations.

A percentage of the profit from the sale of my DVDs will go towards the conservation of endangered wildlife.

In the words of renowned African Ecologist, Baba Dioum:
"In the end, we will conserve only what we love, We will love only what we understand, And we will understand only what we are taught."
